Rub-a-dub-dub

Norah had her first bath on Saturday morning. She fussed a little while I was washing her cute little bod, but she ABSOLUTELY loves having her head washed. She just lays there and lets me run her head under the faucet and she is in her glory when I am scrubbing it with the brush! I think we are going to have some great trips to the spa someday!

We welcomed Norah Kathryn Brining into the world on Tuesday, July 20th at 8:32 pm. She was 8 lbs. 11 oz. and 21 inches long. Here are pictures from the beginning of her journey to today! We feel so incredibly blessed and are so in love with our little girl. We can't wait to see what the future holds for us and all of the memories we are going to make together as a family! Thank you all for the love and blessings you have shown us the last few days! Norah is so lucky to have such wonderful family and friends surrounding her! We love you all!

Bedrest? What?

We had a non-stress test today and everything on the test looked great. The baby looked wonderful and was very active. When we first got to the hospital my blood pressure was elevated slightly, so they wanted to monitor me for awhile. I also had a little protein in my urine, so Dr. Krohn wanted us to wait to get the test results back from my 24 hour urine analysis. They begin to get worried when the protein is above 500 and mine was only at 180 something, so that seemed to be fine. The longer I was monitored and relaxed, my blood pressure went down to pretty near perfect. However, Dr. Krohn felt that my blood pressure seems to be spiking when I am active and up and about, so she ordered me to strict bedrest, except to use the restroom. I felt a little confused about the 'diagnosis', but the nurse just said that if it gets out of control while I am up and moving around then it can become uncontrollable. Obviously, we want what is going to keep the baby and me the most healthy, so here I sit on bedrest for the next few days. We are going to relax this weekend and if nothing happens between now and Monday we will see Dr. Krohn on Monday and then have another non-stress test. Then, decisions will be made from there! I am still feeling great and Drew is doing a great job of taking care of me, not that I would expect any less! He is the BEST!!!!! We will keep everyone updated with either baby news or further diagnosis news!!!
P.S. The ticker at the top of our page is a liar!!! :) Ha! I am going to keep it up though until Baby B arrives!

And we wait..... :)

Well, our due date is tomorrow and it looks as though it is going to come and go with no action. We had our dr. appt. today and there has been absolutely no change from 2 weeks ago. I am still only 1 cm and have not thinned out anymore. As if that wasn't discouraging enough, my blood pressure was high today and Dr. Krohn was slightly concerned. I have to do a 24 hour urine analysis, starting tomorrow, and then get the results back on Friday. If there is protein in my urine or if the test indicates that I have early signs of preclampsia, then Dr. Krohn indicated she would have to induce me, possibly this weekend. If the urine analysis comes back okay, then I will get monitored twice next week with a non-stress test and we will go from there. I am obviously concerned about my blood pressure now and just hope that everything turns out okay. I know it will, it is just a little scary. Dr. Krohn said we have a stubborn one on our hands here, so it must be a boy! :) Ha! We will find out soon enough!

40 weeks and counting


I don't know why this made me laugh so much! For those that don't know the story, Doug and Janis have provided this Polaroid camera for each grandchild and we have to take a picture of the baby every week for the first month and then once a month for every month until they are a year old. Then, at the end of the year, they have a great baby book to look back on. (I think those are the rules! :) I better check!) Anyway, the first picture for the baby book is a picture of me still pregnant, so we took that tonight. I don't know why I found it so hilarious seeing Drew with this HUGE camera pointed at me, but it had me laughing for a good minute. Just funny how technology has evolved, thank goodness! :)

Reality Check :)

We were in the grocery store today and we ran into one of the girls that was in our baby class with us. She had obviously not had the baby yet and today is MISERABLY hot, so I asked her how she was hanging in there. She said she was doing good and then asked when we are due again! I told her next week. Curious about her date, I asked when she is due......she responded with, "I'm a week overdue, so don't get too excited!" Oh boy! We walked away feeling a little deflated and Drew said that he wanted to wimper, just a little! I know the possibility is there for us to go past our due date and I just can't imagine the feeling of our date coming and going and ..... nothing! I guess only time will tell! We are just so anxious to meet this little one, but I know it will arrive when it is good and ready! All we want is a healthy baby, so we will wait as long as we have to!

38 weeks and Biscuit's Room

38 weeks and counting! Sorry I look so absolutely exhausted in this picture. But, this picture shows how I have been feeling. I am waiting for that burst of energy they say you get right before you go into labor. Haven't felt it yet! :) We went to the dr. last Wednesday. I am dialated to 1 cm, still 50% effaced, and blood pressure is still good. I still haven't had any contractions, but have been feeling sort of crampy. I am trying to stay active.....we went for a walk last night because it was so beautiful out. I think Molly was more in her glory than we were! So, we are gonna keep on movin' and keep on waitin' for baby B to get here! :)



There have been a few updates to the baby's room, so I wanted to share. The close up shots are just of some of my favorite accessories in the room! Like this little blue, dog alarm clock!


Love, love, love our new rocker/recliner. It even swivels so I can turn to look out each window. Just makes it feel so much more cozy in there! Those are also the new curtains, which I love much more than the first ones I had. I have to order the tiebacks, but I have polka dot ribbon holding them back for now!

Passing time.....

We just decided to pass some of the time last night on a beautiful July evening by taking a drive looking for some deer! Yes, that is what we do here in Huron County to pass the time! Just a few pictures I captured and edited!
