Ideas for the Babe's room

Well, it still doesn't feel real that I am going to be putting a nursery together. I definitely have ideas and as you can see from the pictures below, I have some items coming together already for the nursery. Obviously we are still in the planning process, so some (or many) of these things could change, but as of right now this is my vision! Take a peek below at some my ideas and at some of my already purchased items for Baby Brining's room!


I really want a nice green color on the walls. Nothing pale or "fru-fru-y", so I found this color called Rosemary green from Benjamin Moore. I will have to get some samples and some other colors and test them on the wall, of course, but I am leaning toward this family of green.


This is the bedding I keep going back too. There is a green color dot in the bedding, so I would have to make sure the paint color doesn't clash. We will probably decide on the bedding first, order, then do paint! I didn't want anything with animals on it and I think this would be so cute for a boy or girl, which is important because we are not finding out what we are having.


Okay, I found this picture online of this nursery with the bedding I want. I FELL IN LOVE with the prints on the wall. They say "How Wonderful Life Is When You're In The World". I had to have them. I realize this may have been a premature purchase (and yes, I did purchase them), but they have so many colors in them that if something changes, I figured I would be able to use them no matter what! I am so excited to get them and I think they look adorable with the bedding. They also go well with the dark furniture, which is also what we want! Maybe we will just copy this whole nursery! :)

I found out at my Christmas party that one of my students is an artist and sells paintings on Etsy (His Etsy shop is called connorsfunshop, if you would like to check out his other paintings). I had to have one. He was so excited when I purchased this original painting titled "Marble Jar". I told him it is probably going to have to go in the nursery. He was so excited. Now it just needs a frame!!!

Her pillows are absolutely beautiful. Well, I found this quirky one with the owl on it and thought it was adorable. I love the bright pop of orange. I want little whimsical pieces in the nursery and I thought this would be a great way to start! I can't wait to get it!!!!


So those are my current ideas and purchases for the nursery. Drew told me this morning that after our friends Bri and Kyle come to stay with us in January he is getting started on the painting and nursery after that.....he said for selfish reasons (can anyone guess? :) ). He doesn't want to wait until the last minute when it is nice out to be putting the room together. So, I guess we will be getting started sooner, rather than later on the baby's room! Fine by me!

Breathing a sigh of relief

We had our second doctors appointment today. These past four weeks have been the longest four weeks of my life. I am (was :) ) still at that nervous stage where my first trimester isn't quite over and I can't feel anything, and I feel great so it seems impossible that everything could be okay. Well, everything is GREAT. We saw Dr. Krohn and she wasn't sure if we would be able to hear the heartbeat yet, so she did a quick ultrasound so we could see the heartbeat. It was so amazing to see this little "biscuit" inside of me. I can't believe how much it has changed since our first ultrasound; it's not just a little blob any more....we could see the head and the arms and the legs. It definitely resembled a baby!!! :) Once she was done with the ultrasound she wanted to give the Doppler a try and see if we could hear the heartbeat. She was searching around for a minute and all of a sudden there it was. I started crying, Drew got teary eyed (I will say that instead of crying) and we just sat and listened for a minute. I told Dr. Krohn I could not ask for a better Christmas gift. That is all I wanted, was to hear a healthy, strong heartbeat. And I got it! The heart rate was around 166, which Dr. Krohn said is right where it should be. I was just so excited to know that everything was okay too, because my pants no longer fit me and I was going to be very upset is that was the case just because I was eating too much! However, I have gained three pounds since the last appt. and I have a healthy baby growing inside of me, therefore my pants have a right to be tight! :) And I couldn't be happier about it.

Our next appt. is on January 20th! I told the Dr. that these next four weeks will be much more relaxed than the past four! We feel so blessed this Christmas season and now we can't wait to spend it with our family and friends and celebrate this wonderful occasion! We will post our 11 week belly picture as soon as we take it tonight!!! Love you all!

Whirlwind of a Photoshoot!!!!

I took pictures of one of my coworker's (actually our school nurse) kids the other day and their cousins. We had a beautiful location and beautiful sunny day. We were out in the woods and hit about four or five different shooting locations. The kids sure were troopers and I took over 400 pictures trying to make sure I got some good shots of all four kids. These are just a few of my favorites!!

These are pictures I took of my cousin Kristy's little guy, Jackson, at Thanksgiving! Drew keeps teasing me that we are going to need a whole new computer after we have a baby....he must think I am going to get a little out of control with pictures or something. I can't imagine why he would think that! :)
