Home Depot and Claire Turns One!!!!!!!!!!

We headed down to Cubitt's house this past Saturday to go to Home Depot Day and to celebrate Claire's first birthday. We have been trying to get down to Home Depot for a long time and it finally worked out. The first Saturday of every month they have a workshop for kids and they get to build something. Norah got her very own apron that she gets to keep and every time we attend a workshop she gets a new pin to put on her apron. Drew helped her with the hammering and gluing and when they were finished they had a cool Home Depot truck. It was fun watching Cole, Bryn and Norah all making their trucks! After we left Home Depot we headed to their house to have a cookout and celebrate Claire's first birthday.....and Jennifer's 31st birthday! We can't forget about Jenn. Last year on her birthday she was in the hospital having a beautiful baby girl and this year it was great to celebrate both of them together! All of the kids had a great time playing together and we had a great time trying to get in some adult conversation, which doesn't come easily these days with all the rugrats running around! :)

After the workshop the kids are given two tickets for a free hot dog, so we had a little picnic on the bench outside afterwards.

Hazel liked watching all of the action and she pretty much just chilled and ate the whole time!

Cole has quite the swing set in his backyard!  Norah loved climbing up the ramp and going down the slide!

Claire had a lemonade themed birthday party and so Jennifer had this adorable lemonade stand for the kids to color.

Hazel took a really good nap when we got to Cubitt's house!  When she woke up she got to hang out on the blanket outside and play for a bit!
What a fun day and all I can say is the girls slept the whole way home!!!!!!  They were exhausted.....and so were their parents! :)

First 'Real' Haircut!

Norah went to visit the beauty salon this past week for her first 'real' haircut. I have have been trimming her hair since she was 8 months old, but we haven't taken her for a big girl haircut until now. I was tired of all the knots and scraggly hair in her face, so it was time to cut it off. Plus, I figured she is getting ready to head to school (sniff, sniff), so she needs a stylish new do to start her school year off right!

She did such a great job of following directions and keeping her head down.

The end result turned out so adorable!  She has already gotten lots of compliments on it and I think it is the perfect haircut for a big girl heading to Preschool in September!
