6 months?

How on Earth can Hazel be 6 months already? It never ceases to amaze me how time flies by. I took a few moments the other day to capture some 6 month pictures of Hazel! Of course, we have to document these precious times, because they will be gone before we know it. A few things about Hazel: She loves her food (particularly squash, sweet potatoes and carrots; we are just starting fruits), she is rolling over constantly now, even in her bed and sleeping on her tummy sometimes, she is almost out of all of her 6 month clothes and mostly in 9 month clothes, she is a giggle-bug, she loves watching Norah and Molly, she is very, very difficult to get dressed; she is a little bowling ball and insists on holding her feet while you are trying to change her. Drew and I are usually sweating by the time we get her dressed and ready to go! She has discovered how to splash in the bathtub and loves it. She should have a great time in the pool this summer. Now all we need is some WARM WEATHER!!!  Anyway, here are Hazey-Bug's 6 month pictures! Enjoy!

Thank You For Being a Friend

Sorry for the Golden Girls reference in the post title. I have them on my mind. Two weeks ago my students' homework assignment was to make a robot at home (since we were reading a story about a robot) and then bring it to school and write about it. When one of my little girls started her story she had to write 'I have a robot and her name is ____________'. I about died when I got her paper and it said 'I have a robot and her name is BETTY WHITE'. Ha! When I asked her about it she said, 'What? She is named after Rose on the Golden Girls. I love that show!' Too cute! She made my day. So anyway, we have had a lot of great friend time lately! A couple weeks ago our friends, Bri, Kyle, and Rowan came for a visit from Indiana. We had such a wonderful time just relaxing around the house, eating, playing and laughing. We miss them lots and can't wait to get down there to see them after their little bundle is born in April!!!!!! This past weekend we headed down to see the Cubitts! Cole and Norah have not seen each other in forever and she was so excited to play with someone else's toys. Later in the evening Mark and Ashlie and the girls headed down for dinner and a little playtime! The kids were all exhausted, but it was so much fun watching them all interact with each other! What a fun night!

Jennifer bought this little dress for Hazel when she was born, so I thought it was only appropriate to wear it during our visit with the Cubitts!  The most adorable part is Claire has the same dress and Jennifer happened to put it on Claire for our visit too!  Matching girlfriends!

We do need a little practice shooting hoops!  The ball seems to be going the wrong direction!

Big Mouth

Children's Museum

Norah had a very special 'Mommy and Daddy alone' day the other day and we had so much fun spending the day with her. We just wanted to get out of town for the day, so we decided to head to the Mid-Michigan Children's Museum. Hazel got to stay behind at Grammy and Papa's while we treated Norah to her big day out! That morning I told her we were going to go to a museum. I wish I would have had the camera to catch her reaction. She got this great big smile on her face and was so excited then she said, "We go to the Dinosaur Museum." I thought for a second about what the heck she was talking about and then I realized that the only museum she has probably heard about is the one on Team UmiZoomi and it is a dinosaur museum where all of the dino's live! So for the rest of the day the museum was referred to as the 'Dinosaur Museum'. Drew and I just kept saying we hope there is some sort of dinosaur at the museum. Thankfully there were a few little play dinos and we really played them up! She was happy as a clam. It was so special to spend the day out with just our big girl! We missed Hazel Bean, but she will get her chance for her special days out in the future too!

And I recently took a little moment to snap a few extra shots of this sweetie girl.  I have to remind myself often that I need to keep taking pictures of both girls, but especially Hazel.  I have so many baby pictures of Norah and I want Hazel to have the same sort of pictures her big sis has.  Things just get so hectic sometimes that I have to remember to not let these sweet little moments pass without snapping a few pics!

Winter Continues

Well, the Brining girls are just getting over sickness, so that is why we have been M.I.A lately. Norah had a sinus infection and Hazel had bronchitis pretty bad. It was so horrible listening to her cough and cry because she was so miserable. We are almost done with our medicine though, so hopefully we kicked it out of their systems! Hazel is just growing so much and is eating rice cereal now. She barely fits in her 6 month clothes, which I just switched over into her closet. Guess I will be doing another switch-er-roo here soon to 9 month clothes. She loves playing in her excersaucer and her bouncy seat and she loves watching her big sister. Norah is just such a little conversationalist lately. She has loved taking advantage of the snow outside, when it isn't too cold. Her new favorite thing is to help her Daddy shovel. And believe it or not, she is really great at it and actually a huge help! :)

Getting So Big!

Both girls just seem to be getting so big these days. I don't know what has happened to Hazel, but she is just busting out of her clothes, getting stronger every day and so alert, always watching her Sissy!

Hazel tried cereal for the first time this past week!  It took her a few days to get used to it, but WOW!  Now that she has the hang of it, she is gobbling it right up!

Norah seems to all of a sudden just be a big girl too!  She is so much fun to have a conversation with and to come home every day and hear about her day just brings a smile to our faces. I thought I was going to die laughing the other day.  We were walking in from the house on Friday and I said, "Ok, Mommy is going to get on some comfy clothes and then we will get on your comfy clothes and put a movie on!"  She just so nonchalantly said, "That sounds like a plan, Stan!"  What? Where did that come from!? It was hilarious!  Drew and her had a little Play-Doh time this past weekend!  She insisted he keep making turtles.  Doesn't she look proud!?
