Another Summer Playdate

We headed up to Harbor Beach last week to help celebrate Mike Cubitt's birthday. It was so much fun to watch all the kids play together and to visit with everyone.

This was the coolest toy ever.  I had never seen one before, but I need to keep my eye out for one.  It was a little roller coaster that all the kids could ride on.  I love the expressions on Norah's face.

We finished the evening with a walk on the beach and a campfire.  I wish I would have gotten a picture of Bryn and Norah around the campfire.....they basically took down an entire bowl of popcorn between the two of them!  Nothing better than a campfire and popcorn!  Thanks again Cooks for having us!  We had a wonderful time!

Belly Pics

As you all know my sister-in-law Ashlie and I both have a 'thing' for photography and I am so blessed that she is so talented behind the camera. I am usually the one behind the camera taking pictures of my family, but last night Ashlie took some time to shoot some family and belly pictures for us before Baby #2 arrives. I cannot thank her enough because they turned out way beyond my expectations! Thanks so much Ashlie! I will treasure these pictures forever!

I was going to make a video of them all to share (because I have so many favorites), but when I have my blog printed into my second book, I want the pictures to show up!  So here they ALL are!  :)

After our photo shoot, we had dinner and a campfire!  It was so much fun sitting around the fire watching the girls eat their chocolate and marshmallows! 

 

We decided to head in around 10:00pm and Ashlie had a mirror to show me in the basement before we left.  We headed to the basement and all I can say is boy am I glad she went down before me (sorry Ashlie! :) ).  I saw her at the bottom of the steps and all of a sudden all I saw was her duck, scream and something swoop at her head!!!!!!!!!!!!  You got it!!!  There was a bat flying around the basement!!!  I ran back upstairs screaming, Ashlie is screaming, all of the girls start crying and the guys were worried half to death.  So.....I won't go into details, but after about a half an hour, the bat was found, its life was gently taken with a broom (it was either that or a yellow, plastic baseball bat!) and it was thrown outside.  Here is a picture of the girls waiting patiently upstairs to hear the news of the bat's capture.  I do have a video commentary from the three girls that I will post later!!!!!!



Big Girl, Big Truck, and Artist

We have had a couple big events around here lately. Norah has officially moved upstairs to her big girl room. Well, all of her 'stuff' isn't up there yet, but she is taking all of her naps and sleeping through the night up there! She has transitioned SO WELL! It is amazing, really, how easy the transition was. We couldn't be happier. Also, this week is Cheeseburger in Caseville and we were able to get the Bud Light vehicle again this year. This is a different one from last year; much, much bigger! Last, Norah just got her very own easel from Uncle Jimmy, Aunt Erin and Thatcher. She has been playing with it constantly since they brought it! A future Art'ea'st perhaps! :)

Club Championship

This past weekend was the annual Club Championship out at Verona. Drew did another great job this year and took home first place. This is the third year in a row that he has won first place and we couldn't be more proud of him! Way to go honey!

And it has sort of become a tradition to get a family picture after the Club Championship since Norah has been born.  I think Norah has been Daddy's good luck charm since he has won every year since she was born! 

We headed to Mark and Ashlie's for dinner afterwards!  Can you get a cuter table of girls? 

Play Date

We have visited the Flanagan's a few times this summer, so Renee and Bryn decided to head our way for a change of scenery. It was a beautiful evening out and the girls had so much fun playing together. They played in the sprinkler, sandbox, blew some bubbles, ate some snacks, ate dinner together at Norah's big girl table and watched UmiZoomi! Thanks for the visit girls!!!! We had a blast!

7 weeks to go.....

With only 7 weeks to go in this pregnancy we are enjoying every last moment with Norah before she becomes a BIG SISTER! We took advantage of the beautiful weather the other night and went out to the golf course together. Norah just loves watching her Daddy and saying, "Go in the hole!" She even got a few practice putts in herself. It was a gorgeous night and I just love precious family time spent together. And I just have to brag about my hubby for a minute and give him a big congratulations because tonight he had the best round of golf ever in his life! He came home beaming and showed me his score card. I wasn't sure what to expect, but when I saw the big 6-5 I couldn't believe it. A 65....way to go babe! That is the lowest score he has ever, ever shot! It must have been that lesson he got from Norah the night before that helped him out! :)

Just can't believe we are here already!  We had a Dr.'s appt. on Wednesday.  Everything continues to go great.  My blood pressure was wonderful, the baby's heartbeat was at 141, and my belly is measuring at 32 inches.  This pregnancy has just been so different in terms of blood pressure, weight gain and swelling.  With Norah my blood pressure was always on the higher side and my weight gain was much higher.  I was so swollen with Norah that I wasn't able to wear my wedding ring after about 20-25 weeks.  With this one, I still have my wedding ring on and my toes don't look like little sausages.....yet! :)  I guess it helps chasing a 2 year old around all summer!  We had one more first the other night.  On Monday night I felt the baby's hiccups for the first time!  So cool!

And we have to give a BIG congratulations to our friends Mike, Jennifer and Cole Cubitt!  Jennifer was due on July 23rd (yes, 10 days ago!!!) and today, August 2nd is Jennifer's birthday.  Needless to say, she got the best birthday present ever........welcome to the world Claire Elizabeth!  We are glad everyone is healthy and doing well and we can't wait to meet her!
