Somewhere over the rainbow!!!

With all of the rainstorms we have had lately we were bound to get a rainbow. We had a really hard rain the other night and this was the view in the front of the house. Beautiful!

JImmy and Erin's Shower

Mom and I traveled down to Clinton Twp. this past Saturday for Jimmy and Erin's first bridal shower. It was a beautiful day and it was great being able to spend some time with the two of them. 4 months until the big day.....can't wait!!!!!

Progress!!!!

The nursery is coming together. We got our changing table/dresser from Doug and Janis the other day. Janis painted it for us and it looks wonderful. We still have the two doors to put on front, but it looks adorable with the knobs we picked out. I was so excited to get my wall hanging up. It was the very first purchase I made for the nursery way back when and it has just been sitting in the closet waiting to go up. Drew helped me measure everything out and get everything level. I think it turned out great. Now we just need our rocking chair and we should be good to go! :)

34 weeks!!!!!

Sorry it has been so long since we have had a 'belly' update. But, here it is, and whoa there is the belly. I never realize how pregnant I am until I see a picture of myself. Not that I am complaining! I love it! We had our dr. appt. yesterday. We had to wait about an hour and a half before we saw the dr. She had to run to the hospital earlier to deliver someone. They kept apologizing and I just said, "Don't apologize. If that was me at the hospital I would want Dr. Krohn to come running to me!" Everything is still looking great. My blood pressure was "textbook" as the nurse referred to it and I am measuring right at 34. The heartbeat was in the low 140's. We wait 2 weeks until our next appt. and then after that we start going EVERY WEEK. It is getting close! We just can't believe it. We are getting very excited, anxious, nervous and every other emotion that goes with becoming parents. But, all we can say is, "Bring it on!!" We're ready for anything!

I'm seeing Polka Dots

We had our big family and friends baby shower this past weekend. We were so overwhelmed by the love and excitement shown for us on this day. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. The weather was beautiful, the company was great and we received many, many baby necessities to start our little one off right! Thank you to everyone that attended and especially to all of the ladies that put so much hard work and effort into pulling off such a flawless shower! We love you all!

Our theme was polka dots. Our bedding is all polka dots so that is where the inspiration came from! Love the paper lanterns adding to the decor!

Us and probably the most special gift we received that day. The teddy bear that Drew and his sister Kathryn used to play with when they were little ones!

Tears, tears, and more tears

Well, I can't believe this is going to be my first Mother's Day. It is definitely long awaited and now that it is here, it has been a bit emotional. I have already received a few gifts that have made the upcoming day so special. My mom and dad surprised me the other day with a BODY PILLOW; let me tell you, I should have had one a long time ago. I have slept better the last two nights than I have in the past month. So, thank you mom and dad for making my life that much more comfortable!!! :) Mr. Breault's class also gave me a pot of flowers yesterday. On the pot it said, "Happy Mother's Day! See you in July!" So sweet! I have also had a few tearful moments the past week or so and just thought I would share.

I came home from work the other day and had had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day! There was an envelope on the counter and Drew told me that I should open it. My Aunt Dinah was going through some pictures for my Aunt Poppy's birthday party and she came across the picture below. When I opened it I was expecting to see something like me when I was a little girl holding a baby doll or something close to that. I was not expecting to see my Grandma Baird and I when I was a baby. This is one of the most precious pictures I have ever seen of my Grandma and I. It is the first time I had ever seen it. I opened the envelope and just looked up at Drew and started sobbing. I said, "Is that my Grandma?" And that was all I could get out. He just came over and hugged me and that was that. The tears were flowing and ugly cry was in full effect! Somehow, somewhere someone knew that I needed this picture on this very day!

So then, I am watching tv the other day and of course the Mother's Day commercials are on every other channel. I couldn't help but get teary eyed during this one. I am sure you have all seen it by now, but I feel like it follows Drew's and my journey and our family to a T.

And finally, my Aunt, once again (she sure does now how to make a pregnant niece cry :) ) gave Drew a gift to give me for Mother's Day. Below is a picture of the card she made me and a poem she included in a picture frame. The picture frame has two spots in it and I can't wait for the baby's real footprint to be put in next to the poem! Thanks Aunt Dinah! We love it!

Happy Mother's Day everyone! I never realized how incredibly special and important this day is until now, now that I am a MOTHER!!!!!!!!!!

the BIG 3-0!!!!!

30 WEEKS!!!! We just can't believe it. We have a chalkboard hanging in our kitchen and Drew writes the week on it as a count down each week. When he wrote the number 30 he kept turning around and looking at it as he walked away. He looked at me and said, "Wow! That one hits ya hard!" It was so funny.
We had a dr. appt. last week. Everything is still going great. My belly is measuring at 32 and the heartbeat was in the high 140's. My blood pressure was a little high, but let's just say I had a bit of a trying day at school that day, so the dr. said that could have something to do with it! :) I have had a little swelling in my feet, but obviously the dr. said that is normal as long as I don't have any pain in my calves, which I haven't. I can tell you right now, the flip flops are going to be the shoe of choice this summer!
