Well, I had the pleasure this evening of photographing Ben and Sophie Shuart. Ben is one of my students and Sophie is in the "other" Mrs. Brining's class. We went up to the log cabins by the public park and here are some of the pics I captured. I hope you enjoy!

The Magic of Editing

I am very excited because I am doing another photo shoot tomorrow. Shelly Shuart asked me to take pictures of Ben and Sophie while the leaves are still nice and bright. I was thrilled when she asked me and I am really looking forward to our photo shoot tomorrow. I hope I can get some good ones.

When I knew I was doing this I started looking at pictures and things online and I realized how much editing photos can really help capture the essence of emotion even more in pictures. I know you have all seen the following photos (Erin, I hope you don't mind me using your family again! And Ashlie, you are used to me using Audrey and Lilly as my test subjects....so thank you!!!! :) ), but I edited a few and just wanted to share them. If you have any thoughts about whether I am making the photos "glow" too much or editing them too far, please share with me. I am open to suggestions! I want to make my photos the best they can be. I do think that the amount of glow and editing though, sometimes is a personal preference! Don't be afraid to share you opinions though! Thanks for looking!

And the verdict......

is we went up in the Arch!!!!!! It was a bit scary and claustrophobic going up, but worth it! Here are some of my favorite pics from our St. Louis trip. Sorry there are so many, but I told Drew, "It is so nice to be outside of Bad Axe and actually have something to take pictures of." He responded with, "You mean something to take pictures of besides cows and corn!" My point exactly!!!!!

This picture was taken from the top of our hotel. At the top of our hotel was a restaurant that rotated. It took an hour and a half to go around one time. We ate dinner there the first night in St. Louis. It was beautiful looking out on the city at night!!

The Anheuser-Busch brewery in the distance. This is where we spent Monday night for a block party throughout the brewery. When we pulled up there was a red carpet and people lined up handing us a fresh Budweiser that was brewed that day. On the bottle the born on date said October 7, 2009! Pretty cool! We also got our picture taken with a Clydesdale, saw the new Budweiser Olympic 2010 car and Kasey Kahne, the driver of our car, was there for the unveiling! On Tuesday night we were taken by bus to a venue where Jimmy Buffet played for us. It was so surreal to walk up to the counter and have any drink or food that you wanted and not have to hand over any cash! We were about 10 rows up right next to the stage for an outstanding concert! What a great few days!

Gateway to the .... Panic Attack

Hello Everyone,
St. Louis is absolutely beautiful! The St. Louis arch is something like I have never seen before. It is so amazing and majestic and truly an architectual masterpiece. I told Mom, Dad, and Drew that it is so nice to finally have something to take pictures of besides cows and corn (that's what Drew said! :) ). The shear magnitude of the height and size is incredible. I never realized that you could actually take a "cart" up to the top of the arch and look out windows at the top. We have not mustered up the courage to do this yet and I am not sure the courage will ever appear. I basically have a panic attack just standing next to the thing, let alone going up inside in some closed in cart with no windows and then getting to the top and having to lean OUT to see out the windows. Yikes, I am sweating just thinking about it. Some guy told us in the elevator today though, "Look at it this way, that thing has been there are very long time and they haven't killed anybody yet!" Ha, yeah, well there is a first time for everything. Stay tuned for the amazing pictures of St. Louis, the arch, and to find out if we decided it was a good idea or not to put our lives on the line just to "say we did it" by going to the top!!!!!!!
